I got a fab email last week from a wonderful 84 year old FEMALE reader who loved Phantom Lover. This story started several weeks ago, but anyway, this woman, who must remain nameless, told me a terrific story about how she loves gay porn and had a sizable stash, plus her ebooks downloaded onto her trusty 'puter.
So her daughter thinks this is all a bit depraved and insists she must meet a REAL man as opposed to obsessing over REEL men and long story short, the daughter posted Mom's pic to some geriatric dating site, found a worthy
suitor for Mom and insisted Mom meet the guy. Mom was willing, after a couple phone chats to meet the guy, except her teeth were giving her problems and she had to have 'em all pulled and when she had her new dentured fit, they hurt like hell - [note to self: look after your teeth NOW] and she wouldn't see him.
On her grandson's seventh birthday, my reader cooked dinner, nursed her aching gums and even baked a birthday cake.
She hid her porn stash under the sofa and was shocked when her daugther turned up with her little boy and the man Mom had been talking to on the phone. She dashed to the bedroom, retrieved her store-bought teeth and grinned through the pain and everything went well until her grandson asked her to blow out the candles. Which she did: her teeth flew right across the room. Her new suitor dutifully dropped to his knees and  felt around for them. And what does he find?
Her stash of gay porn under the sofa! And my book!
He apparently said, "Your a wild little filly, aren't you?" and now calls her his older woman (she's 84, he's 82) and he's quite...er...taken by the things she has shown him.
Ain't love grand?
I just got an email from her telling me they got married in Las Vegas on Friday. I said, 'Aren't you rushing things a bit?' but at 84, she says, 'When you know, you know.'
I stand corrected and wish them a long, lavish life and hope that with or without her teeth, she keeps her man smiling.
