Bad Boys
Hi everyone,
I was chatting on a website last night with some other romance writers about how much mileage we all get out of bad boys. What is it that we like about them?
Danger? Check.
Mystery? Check.
The challenge. Oh yes, double check.
So why do I feel grimy after reading today's interview with the actor Jude Law who says he is "happy" he got caught screwing his kids' baby sitter?
Because it's a really, really creepy thing to do. Right up there with sleeping with your sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, best friend's wife, etc.
And because you shouldn't feel happy you got caught and the whole world will be there to remind your plethora of children (Jude has five) what a rotten, lowdown thing you did.
I personally think there's bad and just plain stupid.
And mark my word, some of my male characters are deliciously bad to the bone.
But they're never ever stupid.
Or as superficial as one happy ass of an actor across the pond...
Aloha oe,
AJ
