Red Velvet

Hi everyone,

I am back in Hellay - oops, I mean L.A.and am posting this blog way later than I intended. I am on Beth Wylde's Yahoo Group hosting an all-day author chat day and I am having a lot of trouble getting emails to and from people.

Thank you Yahoo!

so far the talented and gorgeous author Savannah Chase and talented and big weekend award-winning author D.J. Manly have showed up to show some love.

Thanks guys, you rock!!

My book Fly Me to the Moon came out on Saturday and I am suffering a seriously bad attack of  PHS Syndrome.

This is a serious illness, PHS Syndrome, Promo Ho Syndrome.

And women think they got it tough with PMS?

Oiks...they do when they get both on the same day!!

PHS is a debilitating malady with some dangerous side effects. It is an affliction peculiar to writers whose books get published and need to be promoted in order to sell.

Symptoms are: an urge to type, an urge to be inventive, original and clever. For some writers, the illness also exhibits other manifestations: the desire to tell hopefully funny stories and serious neglect of loved ones. The dog looks at me with seriously sad eyes and I keep typing.

Oh, I got the condition bad today...

My current side effects include terror, anxiety, excitement, unwashed hair, mounting email messages and I, A.J, have developed an obsession with Red Velvet cake. I never tried it until yesterday.

My friend, the talented artist Cindy Bennett had a holiday party at her Chinatown gallery and there they were. These innocent looking red cakes with cream cheese frosting.

I no longer need a man. I need. I want. I love. I have to have.

Red velevet.

I have two stolen, tantalizing leftovers lurking in my fridge, a promise to myself for indulging my affliction, of stroking the muse.

Sorry dog, you're on your own...I'm sick I tell you. I'm a promo homo.

Aloha oe,

AJ
