AJ Finds a Possible Keeper

Current mood: blissful

Hi everyone,

Well, I think I did it. I think I've found a guy who might actually...dare I even whisper this...be a keeper. Yes, me, the beggar on the street of love has actually found himself a hot Hawaiian guy with good looks, a sense of humor and...he likes my dog.

But is he...good in bed? Don't know yet, but I'm willing to cruise into dating mode with this one. We were set up on a blind date and for those who read the saga of my date with the champ, you know I'm due something nice to happen to me, A.J. Llewellyn.

So, he's Hawaiian (yummo) and he co-owns a security company and he drives a Metro truck on the freeway. He works with a good friend of mine who's been saying for months, "You should meet Keo."

I've frankly been intrigued by his stories about Keo who rescued my friend from some gun-wielding gangbangers in the dead of night on the 405 Freeway during a tow. Some of his casual mentions of Keo's 'niceness' piqued my interest. So finally, a few nights ago, Keo called me and we had a great conversation. Voices are everything I think. Then we met for the obligatory coffee date. He has two eyes, two ears, one mouth, normal shaped head and all his teeth.

SCORE!

Okay, moving past that, he didn't embarrass me in public and seemed genuinely intrigued about my erotic fiction and my day jobs covering boxing and reading screenplays.

SCORE TWO!

Then we arranged dinner at this new Hawaiian place he wanted to take me to, but had to postpone due to work.

MINOR FREAKOUT!

My friend who introduced us told me Keo has been juggling shifts for two weeks, then last night, when I wasn't feeling well and I was in my flannel Hawaiian pajamas (with palm trees and nekked, ukele-playing girls) he called me and said he "craved hearing my voice" and could he bring dinner over?

Wait a minute...the dog was nipping at my ankles, invite him over, invite him over...and in walked Keo with Hawaiian edibles - grilled Mahi Mahi plate lunches, Hawaiian iced teas and a toy for my dog.

He had hilarious stories to tell me, including one ancient African American woman who didn't have the money required to tow her vehcicle all the way to Compton. She sidled across the two truck's bench seat, put her arm around Keo and asked him, "Have you ever made love to a black lady?"

Keo gave her a kind brush-off, but dropped her and her vehicle all the way home. What a gent.

So after a nice kiss, he headed home, after rescheduling dinner for this week. He asked to read my book Phantom Lover and I lent him my hard copy.

He looked at the cover and grinned. "I think you used my body for this picture."

Maybe I laughed a little harder than he did, but he called me this morning to tell me I put a smile on his face.

He's put one on mine, too...

Aloha oe,

A.J.

Go for it AJ! I am so happy for you.
It sounds like you may have finally met someone that is a good fit! (no pun intended , LOL!)

I read about your last blind date fiasco on Bonnie's group and I am so glad you made through that night okay.

Take care and wishing you the best! Mary Ann W.
